Eight boys on Crozet’s Pop Warner football team, the Western Albemarle Chiefs, have been named to the Mid-South All-Scholastic Team. Six are on the Junior Pee Wee team and two are on the Junior Midget team. They will be honored at the 7th Annual Tribute Dinner at Wake Forest University April 7.
Named to the First team are John Carr Haden, Stephen Kuzjak, Adam Long, Wiley Martin III, Andrew Rakes and Will Wallace. Named to the Second team are Jackson Hanchett and Andrew McConville.
To be considered for the all-scholastic team a boy must earn A’s in every school subject for the entire year. Their activities and other achievements are also taken into consideration. The Mid-South Region consists of Pop Warner teams from seven states including North and South Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The honorees will next be considered for the National Scholastic Team.
