A community of local men made their delicious and generous contribution to the 18th Annual Rockfish Nights celebration at Rockfish Valley Community Center, the main fundraiser to support the center’s operations.

Nine local men donned an apron and chef hat to produce a special entree. There was something for all tastes with choices of Indian curry, chimichangas, chicken enchiladas, Osso Buco, shrimp and grits, beef bourguignon, Southern greens, fettuccine alfredo and pork sandwiches with broccoli rabe. Three other men offered sides and another three made their specialty for dessert. “It was great fun,” said Glenn Picou, a new RVCC board member and the event organizer. “Everybody said they really enjoyed themselves.”

The event has evolved over the years from a gala-style jazz night with a silent auction of business community donations, to the current idea with more focus on fun and entertainment. “Best of the Chest” items were selected from Treasure Chest donated items and available for a “Chinese Auction” raffle. The highlight of entertainment was Casino Night with the professionals “Casinos 2 U” providing a new level of fun that was introduced last year and invited for a return engagement.

Attendance was a sell-out, with a few more guests at the door unaware of the need to reserve ahead.
